Real world experiences
The Directed Field Studies component is one of the strengths of the Bachelor of Applied Business Administration — Accounting degree program. The DFS will be an exciting and challenging part of your education. The two employer-paid, four-month work terms give you opportunities to gain experience, make contacts and apply classroom theory on the job.
Getting the right opportunity
Career Services works closely with you and employers to find placements and monitor your work experience. You will also complete assignments and other reports to fulfill the academic requirements of these 15-credit DFS courses.
What students are saying
“I have always heard that Mount Royal accounting students are better prepared for the ‘real world’ when they graduate. I felt I was fully prepared to take on any role my employer was to give me, and that confidence came from my schooling at Mount Royal.”
— Chris Love,
Bachelor of Applied Business Administration — Accounting alumnus
“My Mount Royal degree has given me many opportunities in my current position. The strong, technical education I was provided has enabled me to compete with the best. And the personal growth opportunities that the school presented through leadership activities and school supported, student organizations have enabled me to stand out at my firm.”
— Jonathan Reimche,
Bachelor of Applied Business Administration — Accounting alumnus
