Bachelor of Applied Business and Entrepreneurship — International Business

Admission to the Bachelor of Applied Business and Entrepreneurship - International Business has been discontinued as of Fall 2010. If you are interested in International Business, please see the Bachelor of Business Administration.

Current students who began their studies in the Bachelor of Applied Business and Entrepreneurship - International Business have the opportunity to complete their program. They should consult a Business Advisor for further information and guidance.

Go global with your career. The world is a much smaller place than it used to be, and it needs professionally-trained people who know the ins and outs of doing business globally. The four-year International Business stream in the Bachelor of Applied Business and Entrepreneurship program gives you a unique combination of entrepreneurship, international trade and practical experience you need to succeed in business ventures beyond Canadian borders.

Experience wanted

You can gain expertise in the following business activities:

  • importing and exporting
  • international finance
  • global supply chain management
  • market entry strategies
  • international trade law
  • international marketing

Professional designation

In addition to obtaining your degree, you will also have an option to transfer 7 or 8 of your INBU credits and write a Forum of International Trade Training (FITT) professional exam to earn an International Trade Diploma. After one year of international trade experience, you will be eligible to apply  for the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation.

Career choices

Graduates can apply their professional skills in a wide array of organizations, from small enterprises or large manufacturing concerns to the public sector or industry associations.

Your job title could be:

  • Market research analyst — study opportunities for the company’s products or services in specific markets such as foreign.
  • International marketing representative — develop and execute strategies for developing foreign markets.
  • International shipping specialist — arrange and coordinate international shipments and prepare necessary documentation on behalf of exporters.

Other streams

In addition to the International Business stream, Mount Royal also offers a Bachelor of Applied Business and Entrepreneurship in New Venture or Sport and Recreation. This program earned national recognition as the most innovative Applied Business and Entrepreneurship undergraduate degree program from the Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurs.
