Mount Royal’s new four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in General Management gives you everything you need to succeed in a dynamic, challenging business environment.

While many commerce degrees focus on big business, the BBA also gives you insight into the exciting world of the small- and medium-sized enterprise, which currently generates more than 80% of new jobs in Canada.

Career opportunities

A management degree gives you the flexibility to pursue a career in a variety of fields, from private industry to government and nonprofit organizations. Your job title could be:

  • Management consultant — analyze company issues, conduct research and provide solutions.
  • Business analyst — identify business needs and serve as a liaison to service providers.
  • Business systems analyst — define computer system parameters and decide the types of new programs needed for a business.

Students in General Management may choose from a variety of business courses with the intention of obtaining a well rounded business education. These may include Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Financial Services, Human Resources, International Business, Insurance, Management, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Supply Chain Management or Aviation courses. Students may also choose to "design" their own specialization from courses outside the Business School. General Management students are encouraged to pursue one of the following business minors:

Mount Royal Business Administration diploma students (current and alumni), as well as diploma students from post-secondary institutions across Alberta, can receive credit towards Mount Royal’s four-year Bachelor of Business Administration degree. 

Further education

The BBA prepares you for Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs as well as other graduate studies.
