Business Administration Diploma — Human Resources


Admission to the Business Administration Diploma - Human Resources has been discontinued for Fall 2010 and 2011. If you are interested in Human Resources,
please see the  BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.

Current students who began their studies in the Business Administration Diploma – Human Resources have the opportunity to complete their program.  They should consult a Business Advisor for further information and guidance.  

 

Experience wanted

You will be prepared for all aspects of human resource management, including:

  • Conducting job evaluations
  • Performing recruitment
  • Screening and selecting candidates
  • Reviewing and enhancing employee relations programs
  • Designing and implementing compensation and benefits programs
  • Benefits
  • Implementing training and development initiatives

Career choices

Human resources professionals are in high demand from all sectors in Canada’s growing economy.

Your job title could be:

  • Recruiter — post job descriptions, conduct interviews and hire individuals to fill positions within an organization.
  • Human resources specialist — manage all aspects of building a happy and productive workforce, including hiring, training, benefits and compensation.
  • Payroll assistant — support the payroll process by checking time sheets, processing deductions, tracking benefits and more.

Industry recognition

Mount Royal's courses are recognized by several professional bodies, including the Human Resources Association of Calgary, the Human Resources Institute of Alberta, the Certified Benefits Specialist Association and the Canadian Compensation Association.

Professional designation

As of January 1, 2011, CHRP Candidates – those who have passed the National Knowledge Exam® (NKE) – will require a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (such as Mount Royal's Bachelor of Business Administration) from an accredited college or university in order to register for the National Professional Practice Assessment® (NPPA) and qualify for the CHRP designation. Build up to a degree

Mount Royal business diploma students (current and alumni) may transfer into the new four-year Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
