Tales from the Other Side: Across the Stage & Into the Real World

Join us as we bring together alumni spanning years, industries, workplaces, and experiences to get an actual view of what life looks like after graduation. This panel is going to be forward and frank. This is your source for stories on navigating the job market, networking, career trajectories, honest advice, and tales of when work sometimes feels more like the Upside Down than a shiny recruiting poster.

There’s no replacement for actual on the ground experience, but this comes pretty close. Get your questions ready and your pencils sharpened to take the notes on how to keep your next steps rightside up.

Game It! The New Social Innovation Concentration
Learn more about the Social Innovation Concentration, new courses for Fall 2018, play and create a game while you're at it! First, Dr. Michael Lickers, Sr. Advisor Indigenous Relations, Suncor Energy and Social innovator, will walk us through a collaborative game to help us see the world and its complex challenges like Reconciliation, through new eyes.  Please dress appropriately for an interactive game, and observers are welcome.  Then we meet Katherine Ziff, a Social Innovation faculty member formerly of Telus Spark, the Portland Children's Museum, and the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Get a taste of Human Centred Design while you work with others on creating your own games.
