Dean's Message

As Dean of the Faculty of Communication Studies, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our virtual visitors. I am happy to announce the addition of the Theatre, Speech & Music Performance Department to our Faculty. With an emphasis on creativity, performance and technical training, these programs are a great complement to our current offerings.

We continue to offer our four-year Bachelor of Communication degree with majors in: Information Design, Journalism and Public Relations. Expanding both academic and professional opportunities, these programs will give graduates a chance to fully explore their area of interest and move on to graduate studies if they choose. We also offer our two-year broadcasting diploma, and an eight-month certificate in Journalism.

Each year, our students work on industry-specific assignments, including newspaper and magazine production, an online radio station and video production, web design and portfolio creation, special event management and communication planning, music concerts and theatre productions — just to name a few. All of this is created in a state-of-the-art environment, designed to match what they will likely encounter in the ‘real’ world.

We are proud to be able to display this work on our student showcase website. You will see this library expand to include even more student-driven projects in the months and years to come.
