Program-Specific Admission Requirements 

Prospective students apply for the Bridge to Canadian Nursing program using the standard Mount Royal Application for Admission form. For some applicants, the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) determines which courses are required. Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) who are registered nurses in Canada, can also self-select to take any Bridge to Canadian Nursing (BCN) courses. 

To be eligible for admission to the program you must meet the English Language Proficiency (Institutional) requirement for Mount Royal University*, and one of the following:

  • Provide proof of registration as a registered nurse in Alberta
  • Provide a letter from the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) identifying bridging requirements.
  • Provide evidence of a recognized credential that meets the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) requirements for participating in the program. 

Applicants will be required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirement by the following dates if they are given a (conditional) offer of admission.

  • Fall Semester – August 1
  • Winter Semester – December 1

Tuition & Costs

Costs are influenced by your circumstances including your program choice, living at home, or living in residence.

  • Student Tuition, full course fee (per course): $679.09

Additional Mandatory Fees - per semester

Students must be enrolled in 3 courses to qualify.
  • Recreation & Athletics: $147.04 (full-time Fall/Winter), $73.52 (part-time Fall/Winter), $73.52 (full-time Spring/Summer), $36.76 (part-time Spring/Summer)
  • Insurance: $2.24 (full-time), $0.65 (part-time)
  • Student Services: $438.76 (full-time Fall/Winter), $218.38 (part-time Fall/Winter), $218.38 (full-time Spring/Summer), $109.19 (part-time Spring/Summer)
  • Universal Buss Pass (UPass): $165 for Fall 2024, $170 for Winter 2025
