
Mental health and mental illness are significant issues in our society today. Regardless of where we go, individuals are seeking ways to promote and improve their mental health. In many work settings, we are increasingly called upon to intervene with individuals, families and groups with a variety of mental health concerns.
Graduates of the ASMH program have gained employment in a variety of community agencies such as home care, community mental health, addictions programs, grief and bereavement intervention programs, crisis centres and clinics, long-term care programs and facilities, suicide prevention training and education programs just to mention a few. Graduates are often seen as leaders in their work settings and work to provide mental health promotion, assessment and intervention with a wide variety of concerns
