Admission requirements & costs

A completed diploma or degree is required from a recognized post-secondary institution in health, allied health, social science, criminology or justice studies, or be an undergraduate student in the senior year of study.

*Senior undergraduate students — should check with their base program or the Forensic Studies program prior to registering in specific courses. Some courses may not be approved as part of their program. MRU undergraduate students already in another program only need to complete the program specific application. Once in the Forensic program, MRU undergraduate students register for specific courses by submitting add/drop forms to the Forensic program.

How to apply for Forensic Studies

Step 1:

Submit an online application Online Application for Admission.

Step 2:

Fill in the department online distance information form. This form provides us with contact information and employment, professional and/or volunteer history. Click on Information Form

Step 3: Submit the items requested on the Checklist

Other requirements

Computer — Due to the distance nature of the programs, a computer with the following specifications is required prior to beginning the program:

  • Minimum Windows 98; optimum Windows NT, 2000, XP
  • An Internet provider service and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Mozilla Firefox browser
