Jonathan Hak

Jonathan Hak is a crown prosecutor in Calgary who has worked for Alberta Justice for 18 years. He specializes in the prosecution of major crimes, including murder, motor vehicle homicides and cases involving forensic video analysis.

He is actively involved in the training of forensic video analysts from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and other countries. He also trains lawyers on the subject of forensic video analysis, conducts training for the Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association, and has presented at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Academy and in the United Kingdom.

Jonathan also teaches courses in criminal law, evidence and procedures, and expert witness testimony for Mount Royal, where he has been an instructor since 1989. He also teaches management law for the University of Lethbridge in Calgary and is the current vice-president of the Canadian Association of Crown Counsel.

He holds a diploma in criminal justice from Mount Royal College, a Bachelor of Science degree (with distinction) from California State University, a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Laws degree from Cambridge University in England.
