Paula has been teaching with the ACCN program since its beginning in 1989. She has taught in the on-site and distance programs - both in the theory courses and in the clinical areas. Paula completed her undergraduate degree in nursing at Queen's University and her MN and PhD degrees at the University of Calgary.  Paula has worked in several critical care units and has a particular interest in cardiovascular critical care. She is also active in the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses.
