Susan Beischel

Susan has been coordinating and teaching with the Advanced Studies in Perinatal and Neonatal (formerly Maternal Infant Child Healthcare) program since 2004. She teaches in both the theory and clinical courses. Susan completed her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of Calgary in 1988, and her Masters of Nursing and Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery at the University of Alberta in 1997. Susan's masters research was "Women's perceptions of communication and decision making during childbirth". She has worked as a nurse and midwife in the United States , Canada , Bermuda and New Zealand . Susan is also active in the Association of Women's Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and various international midwifery associations.
