

Do you need to teach your course in English?
This course is focused on improving the language skills and teaching methods that professors might use to teach a content course in English in a learner-centred environment. Participants will be actively involved in an intensive program of reading, group discussion, and oral presentations.
Instructional strategies that will be addressed include: Using outcomes for effective course design, Strategies for working in cooperative groups, Effective questioning techniques, Strategies to promote Discussion and Debate, and Alternative Assessment methods, all with a focus on supporting teaching in a second language environment. The course will use case study methodology.
Recommended language ability for entry to the course:
• high intermediate to advanced level of English;
• B2 of the Common European Framework
Dates: July 8 – 20, 2012
Cost: $1500 (includes tuition, accommodation in private bedroom in the university Residence, health insurance, books, materials, certificate). Other optional weekend activities.
