Curriculum & Courses

The one-year Computer Science certificate program can be tailored to individual needs and interests. You must develop an approved curriculum in conjunction with a department representative.

You are be required to complete the core courses and can choose one of two specializations based on the User Analyst Pattern or the Microcomputer Technical Pattern.

The guide below shows the basic curriculum. For the calendar description of a course, just click on the course abbreviation below. 

Core Requirements

  • Five approved Computer Science options (see specialization patterns below)
  • Four approved options (see below)
  • One elective

An approved option is any course relevant to your occupation. These may include any business administration, computer science or science courses. Other courses must be approved by the department prior to registration.

An elective is a course that may be freely chosen by the student.

Approved Computer Science options are normally chosen according to the User Analyst Pattern or the Microcomputer Technical Pattern. Others must be approved by the Computer Science and Information Systems department prior to registration.
