Who we are

START is an award-winning program which employs currently enrolled Mount Royal University students to support faculty, students, and staff in the use of Mount Royal supported technology.

The START program provides resources to hire and train START student employees who support other MRU students, faculty, and staff in teaching and learning. The START program hires Mount Royal students on a part-time basis and provides them with training to support other students, faculty, and staff in the use of technology tools and applications employed for teaching and learning.

Students who are interested in part-time employment with the START program can stop by the START help lab in T106 to fill out an employment application form.

What START offers

free and unlimited drop-in one-to-one help in the START help lab (T106) and at the Library Information Desk during posted hours
student assistance in learning software applications and media editing technology for the completion of projects, assignments, and class work
scheduled workshops and on-line tutorials
supports approved conferences, institutes, and/ or workshops
supports committees and working groups

The START help lab is located in T106.
The START computer lab is located in T104.
The START Edit Suites are located in T115.

START help lab hours:

Fall & Winter	Spring
Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.	Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Library Computing & Printing hours:

Fall & Winter	Spring
Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.	Closed
Monday to Thursday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.	Closed
Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.	Closed
Sundays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.	Closed

START Edit Suite hours:

August 15 to June 15	June 16 to August 14
