Our teams

The ADC fosters a supportive and collaborative environment in which to explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Our teams provide expertise and support in the areas of classroom-based and technology-mediated instruction, curriculum development, web-based instructional design, media production, and video/audio conferencing.

The Administration team is responsible for the planning, coordinating, and operation of the Academic Development Centre.  

The Educational Technology team is comprised of the following teams: 

  • Instructional Design team 
    • assists faculty members in the development of eLearning courseware in accordance with program/department development plans
    • provides ongoing support to faculty during the project implementation phase
  • Educational Technology Training and Support team (Sandbox)
    • supports Mount Royal's faculty by offering drop-in tutoring and workshops on University supported software and educational technologies.
    • supports ADC's learning suites to enable faculty, staff, and students to connect in real time using the latest audio, video, and internet-based communication technologies.

The Faculty Development team supports teaching and learning excellence at Mount Royal by offering various programs and workshops, and participation in learning communities. ADC faculty development initiatives are designed to support faculty in the pursuit of their teaching and learning goals.

The Media Production group provides video and multimedia production facilities, event support, and consultation services to faculty, staff, and students for classroom, online, event, and promotional purposes.

Student Technicians and Resource Tutors (START) hires and trains Mount Royal students to provide technical support and software training to students and to support educational technology projects and events developed by faculty and staff.  START also offers media edit suite support for students and faculty.
