The ADC fosters a supportive and collaborative environment in which to explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Our teams provide expertise and support in the areas of classroom-based and technology-mediated instruction, curriculum development, web-based instructional design, media production, and video/audio conferencing.
The Faculty Development team supports teaching and learning excellence at Mount Royal by offering various programs and workshops, and participation in learning communities. ADC faculty development initiatives are designed to support faculty in the pursuit of their teaching and learning goals.
Learning technology services are delivered by the following teams:
The Sandbox team includes Educational technologists, supported with faculty development expertise, working together to provide assistance to faculty on best practices and know-how for integrating technology into teaching and learning.
Sandbox Central: a drop-in space where faculty can get help with technology troubleshooting and consultations on Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS), web tools, and other learning technologies.
Sandbox Videoconferencing Services: Get expert help in the use of video- and web-conferencing rooms and technologies.
Sandbox Workshops: Grow your confidence through monthly "how-to" sessions on Mount Royal supported software and educational technologies.
The START team (Student Technicians and Resource Tutors) is comprised of Mount Royal students, who are also part-time employees of the ADC. The START techs provide technology support to their fellow students in the START Lab and START Media Studio. They also perform valuable technical support services at the ITS Helpdesk, the Library and other locations across campus.
The Media Production group provides video and multimedia production facilities, event support, and consultation services to faculty, staff, and students for classroom, online, event, and promotional purposes.
The Administration team is responsible for the planning, coordinating, and operation of the Academic Development Centre.
