The Tech Test Drive is an annual event put on by the Teaching and Learning Technology Roundtable and the Academic Development Centre. This event is meant to bring together those who are using technology to enhance student learning with those who are interested in learning something new about technology. We want to foster communication about what's happening in (and outside of) the classroom - what people are doing and what is working well. The theme for the 2012 Tech Test Drive was Connecting on the GO.
Mount Royal students were invited to attend and/or present at the Tech Test Drive event on March 14, 2012, on Main Street.
Three different formats for presentations make up the Tech Test Drive:
Show and tell
Short presentations (10 minutes in length).
Information booth
Booths are open to the public from 10 am to 3 pm on Main Street. Exhibitors are encouraged to staff their display during their scheduled time allotment and to make their booth as interactive as possible; for example, hands-on exercises or an opportunity for participants to interact with the technology.
Roundtable discussions
Consider an interesting topic or question for discussion and propose to facilitate a roundtable discussion about it. These sessions are about 30 minutes depending on interest.
