2. Will the B.Ed. - Elementary prepare me for accreditation as a teacher?
Yes. The curriculum prepares graduates for certification under the Teaching Development and Certification Branch of Alberta Education. The B.Ed. - Elementary also helps you develop the knowledge, skills and attributes of the Teaching Quality Standard of Alberta.
Teaching accreditation is a provincial responsibility in Canada. Your Mount Royal B.Ed. - Elementary can be certified for teaching in other provinces by making an application to the local provincial Teachers’ Association.
