
The Faculty of Teaching and Learning Scholars’ Council was launched in Spring 2012. Its purpose is to support and promote the scholarly pursuits of faculty, staff and students in the Faculty of Teaching and Learning. More specifically, Scholars’ Council fosters a culture of scholarship by developing programs for scholarly exchange, sponsoring events such as research showcases, and facilitating discussion of scholarship-related issues and challenges affecting members of the Faculty of Teaching and Learning.

Scholarly Exchange
Four times per year, in conjunction with Faculty Council meetings, two members of the Faculty of Teaching and Learning will present and discuss an aspect of their scholarly work with FoTL colleagues. Scholarly Exchange presentations for the 2012-13 academic year will take place over lunch at the dates/times below:
Scholars’ Showcase
Once yearly, members of the Faculty of Teaching and Learning have an opportunity to share and discuss their scholarly work in poster format with members of the university community. The Faculty of Teaching and Learning’s first “Scholars’ Showcase” is scheduled for Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in the Lincoln Park Room.

Student Scholars' Showcase
For 2012-13, students in the Faculty of Teaching and Learning will be invited to participate in the university-wide “Student Scholars’ Showcase” sponsored by the Office of Research Services (ORS). The event will take place in Wyckham House on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.
It is open to all students — not just research assistants or students in honours programs.
