Kenneth Murdoch

Kenneth Murdoch is a native of the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta where he received his initial musical training. He holds an Associate of Music in piano performance from the Western Board of Music, a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from the University of Alberta as well as a Diploma in Education from the University of British Columbia. Summer studies were conducted at the Banff School of Fine Arts and the Aspen School of Music. His teachers include Madeleine Pinkney, Alexandra Munn, Ernesto Lejano and Katrina Wolpe.

In 1970 Kenneth toured Western Canada as the winner of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers Young Artist Competition. He taught at the Medicine Hat College Conservatory of Music and with Calgary Catholic Schools as an elementary music specialist. He has extensive performing experience, especially as an accompanist and has served as an adjudicator and examiner. Choral music has been an additional love. He is an experienced conductor of children's and church choirs and is the Music Director of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. In 2006 he joined the faculty of Mount Royal College Conservatory of Music.
