Paul Grindlay has sung in choirs since he was nine years old. He has sung with such notable ensembles as The Phoenix Chamber Choir, The Vancouver Cantata Singers, The Vancouver Chamber Choir and Musica Intima. He was a member of the 1990 National Youth Choir, the 1991 World Youth Choir and has pursued a solo vocal career which has taken him to Austria, Japan, England, the USA and across Canada to perform with opera companies, orchestras and choirs. He has recorded CDs of music for NAXOS Records, Marquis and Toccata Classics.
Paul was the Artistic Director of the Calgary Boys' Choir between 2004 and 2007. He conducted the 2006 Alberta Boys’ Choir and helped prepare the 2006 Alberta Men’s Choir. Paul directed the “Singspiration” youth choir at Concordia University in 2007 and was resident vocal coach of the program in 2008. He founded “SuperSonic Men’s Choir” in 2007 and is a founding member of two other Calgary ensembles – “VoiceScapes” and “The Buzz.” Paul is currently conductor of the Knox Presbyterian Church Choir and a music professor at Rocky Mountain College in Calgary. Known especially for his work with male voices, Paul is in great demand as a performer, teacher, conductor, clinician and adjudicator.
