Jilliane Yawney is a storyteller, librarian and speech arts instructor. She is active in the storytelling community in Calgary and is the founder of the Calgary Story Slam and A Narrative Approach.

Jilliane has an Associates of Speech and Dramatic Arts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus on theatre and a Master's of Library and Information Studies. During her Master's degree, Jilliane wrote a thesis exploring how storytelling can be used as a pedagogical tool.

Jilliane has conducted many workshops on storytelling and voice including how to use storytelling in the workplace, creating family stories, telling personal stories, storytelling with teens and developing presentation skills.
