Peter Jancewicz is a pianist, composer, writer, adjudicator and teacher. He holds a D.Mus. in piano from the University of Alberta and an M.Mus. from McGill University. Teachers include Kenneth Woodman, Charles Reiner, and Helmut Brauss. He performs frequently both as a soloist and a chamber musician. As a composer, he writes music for his own performances and his piano music for students, including Notebook for Saint Nicholas and Sketches of Canada, is published by the Alfred Publishing Company and Alberta Keys. As a writer, he is a regular contributor to Clavier, and his articles have appeared in various newsletters across Canada. His first CD, Oh Evergreens, includes performances of his own piano compositions in collaboration with poet Elly van Mourik. He is currently on faculty at the Mount Royal University Conservatory in Calgary, Alberta.
