Tim Campbell is an instructor of Contemporary and Jazz guitar. Tim’s wide ranging interests include the styles of Gypsy Jazz (Jazz Manouche), Flamenco, Brazilian and Pop/Rock. He has been with Mount Royal College since 2003.
Tim has studied with jazz guitarists Cliff Maddix and Paul Landsberg. In addition, he has studied classical guitar with Ralph Maier, and flamenco with guitarist Peter Knight. Tim graduated in 1996 from Selkirk College in Nelson, BC, with a diploma in Performance. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies from the University of Calgary (2002).
Tim has been teaching and performing in the Calgary area since 1999. During this time, he has performed in a diverse range of musical venues and genres. He has played with artists ranging from country recording artist Shane Yellowbird to Peter Knight’s flamenco ensemble. Currently, Tim is performing and recording as a solo guitarist, with his own bossa nova duo and as a member of Calgary’s gypsy jazz band the Bow Djangos.
