The Conservatory encourages and emphasizes artistic creativity in its approach to understanding music. A diverse faculty of internationally recognized composers enables The Conservatory to offer a number of different stylistic approaches to the art of musical creativity. Instruction is available for the young or more mature beginner to the more experienced creator looking for alternative approaches to his or her art.
Students learn to write music in a variety of classical and contemporary styles. They also learn to use computer technology to create scores and parts, transcribe their improvisations, and to make recordings.
Composition lessons are offered as private lessons with one of our faculty composers (please refer to Composition Faculty). Each of our faculty may be contacted by e-mail.
Group instruction of 2 or more students is arranged by request.
