Yuja Wang Returns as Wyatt Artist in Residence for Mount Royal Conservatory

(CALGARY — Oct. 20, 2011) Yuja Wang, Conservatory alumna and rising star in the highly competitive world of classical music, is set to return to Mount Royal Conservatory, as a guest artist for the Wyatt Artist in Residence series.

Ms Wang participated in the internationally recognized Morningside Music Bridge program for two summers, before immigrating to Calgary to study with the Academy at the Conservatory. She returns as a teacher and mentor for current Academy students, will conduct masterclasses (an opportunity to be observed and critiqued by a master), and perform a concert in the Leacock Theatre.

Her repertoire for the evening includes selected works from Alexander Scriabin, Sergie Prokofiev and Frank Liszt.
