MR Kantorei

Mixed-voice adult choir

Mount Royal Kantorei

Mount Royal's Kantorei, established in 1995 by Founding Director David Ferguson, has been on the Calgary choral scene for 20 years. Now after two decades the choir is reinventing itself, under Artistic Director John Morgan, with a new vision and mission, a new concert hall, and a host of new singers all adding to the excitement as Kantorei celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Kantorei is an auditioned mixed-voice adult choir that has always championed a varied repertoire from Mozart to Whitacre. Emphasis is placed on the classical music of all periods, but focus is also placed on Canadian repertoire and contemporary works.

Kantorei offers individual vocal coaching to all of their members. Through its connection with the Mount Royal Conservatory, the choir aims to strengthen both the musical and vocal skills of individual members and the ensemble as a whole.

Join Kantorei as they celebrate their 20th year with a season of collaboration. Concerts with the Calgary Youth Orchestra, the Civic Symphony, and choirs from across Calgary are only some of the events we have planned in our new home, the Bella Concert Hall.
