MRU Conservatory Debate Club
MRU Conservatory's Debate Club will provide you with opportunities to learn the ins-and-outs of parliamentary style debate in an exciting, challenging environment. Work in teams to research, practice and deliver powerful debates on a range of interesting topics.
All Debate clubs will explore public speaking skills as needed for Canadian National Style debate. Both prepared and impromptu debates will be practiced. A wide range of issues will be explored and students will find themselves with a richer understanding of current events. Students will have fun in a collegial atmosphere while honing their own personal persuasive style. The MRU Conservatory Debate Club is perfect for students who are on their competitive school teams.
Students will have the time to polish their speaking skills as well as become quick-witted debaters. Whether you are on your school debate team and looking for a competitive advantage, or are exploring debate for the first time, this club is for you.
