Every child can learn to play the guitar at a high level, even at ages as young as three. In the Suzuki philosophy, children learn how to play guitar the same way they learn to speak their native language.
Listening to recordings of guitar repertoire, parental involvement, group classes, daily practice and encouragement are key elements of the Suzuki method which will contribute to your child's musical fluency. Carefully chosen repertoire will enable your child to build excellent technique and musicianship from a solid foundation of musical awareness.
Studying classical guitar is challenging, so to make it fun we play musical games and learn one step at a time. In addition to weekly lessons, your child will learn from other students in bi-monthly group classes and frequent recitals. These learning opportunities will further your child's playing skills and motivation.
Parental involvement is also critical. That’s why you will attend all your child's classes and be a practice coach at home. In order to prepare you to assume these roles, you will participate in Suzuki training prior to your child's first lessons.
