For the second time in as many seasons, the Cougars women’s hockey team has advanced to the ACAC championship.
Last season, the Cougar women defeated the women of Troy (SAIT Trojans) in the fifth game of their best of five semi-final series to advance to the championship – this season; it only took the Cougars three games to dispose of their cross-town counterparts to advance to the finale once again.
With the win, the Cougar women now advance to the ACAC gold medal series versus the NAIT Ooks of Edmonton.
The Cougars and Ooks have squared off six times this season, with the Cougars going 5-1 versus their northern rival, outscoring the Ooks 24-10 in the process.
The Cougars and Ooks will square off for game one of the five game series, at Calgary’s Centennial Arena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12.
Admission is free for MRU faculty and staff members, so come out and support the Cougars in their bid for ACAC gold!
