Sam Switzer

Mount Royal University recently held its second annual luncheon for students who received bursaries donated by the Sam and Betty Switzer Foundation.

The Sam and Betty Switzer Foundation generously donated $125,000 towards 20 bursaries for students in need of financial assistance on Aug. 6. The donation matched one made by the Sam and Betty Switzer Foundation to Mount Royal last year.

During the luncheon, Erica Black (pictured above), a student in Mount Royal’s Info Design program, spoke to those in attendance about what it means to have this financial support to pursue a better life for her and her five-year old daughter.

The annual luncheon, which was held in the Bissett Atrium, is an opportunity for some of the beneficiaries of the Sam and Betty Switzer Foundation bursaries to meet Sam Switzer and other members of his family and Foundation.
