We provide current and aspiring changemakers with the skills and experiences to become effective community leaders. Our minor in Social Innovation and Nonprofit Studies gives students the tools they need to make a difference in their communities. For those interested in a more comprehensive program, we are currently developing a concentration in Social Innovation, which will be available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration—General Management program.
We offer a variety of options for community changemakers looking to upgrade their professional knowledge and skills. Our extension certificate in Nonprofit Management covers the basics of management and governance of nonprofit organizations in Canada. Additionally, our newly launched extension certificate in Corporate Community Investment is designed to inspire creative thinking and inform strategic decisions for those working in community investment roles.
The Institute for Community Prosperity is always looking for opportunities to help promote and fund senior undergraduate students engaged in research relating to the study of the social economy, social innovation, community change, and community investment. Our Community Prosperity Research Award annually funds up to ten students nearing the completion of their degree programs at Mount Royal.
