Does the thought of taking an online course scare you? Maybe you need to refresh your skills? Try our free Online Course Tutorial and learn the tips to navigate through an online course. You will practise submitting an assignment, sending an e-mail, starting a discussion online, taking a quiz and reviewing your grades. By the end of the tutorial you will be ready to take any online course that interests you!
The tutorial is self-guided, but you will be able to contact the administrator if you have questions. You will find step-by-step instructions which will walk you through what an online course looks like, which tools you will need and how to use them. You will also find helpful tips throughout which will help enrich your online learning experience. You do not have assignments or grades.
When and How to Register
These tutorials run on a continual basis, so once you have registered you remain in the course until the end of that term, after which time the tutorial is closed. You do not have to register at the start of the semester in order to take this course. We recommend taking five hours to complete the tutorial; however, you can take as much or as little time as you like.
We also recommend completing the Online Tutorial the semester before you start your online program, if possible. So if you know you are taking an online program in the Winter semester (Jan.-April), take the Online Tutorial during the Fall semester (Sept.-Dec.)
There are several ways to register: Online, over the telephone, fax, mail and in person. All the information on how to register can be found here.
