Mourning Jeff Bird and Reyn Johnson

Mount Royal University and the aviation community are mourning the loss of two experienced pilot instructors who died in a plane crash west of the Springbank Airport on Feb. 13, 2017

Jeff Bird and Reyn Johnson were instructors in our aviation program, part of a close-knit community. They are being remembered by family, friends and colleagues.

Many tributes to the pilots and expressions of sadness have been shared. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Medicine Hat College has lowered the flags to honour Mount Royal University aviation instructors, Jeff Bird and Reynold “Reyn” Johnson, killed in a plane crash west of Calgary on Monday. They will remain at half-mast until the memorial of each individual has occurred. Our thoughts are with their families and our colleagues at MRU.
