Vice-President, Finance and Administration
Annalise Van Ham is the Vice-President, Finance and Administration at Mount Royal University. A certified public accountant (CPA, CGA), she serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and oversees the management of non-academic administrative and operational services that support the University’s mission by providing specialized services to the Mount Royal community.
Annalise is a member of the President’s Executive Committee and numerous other executive and board committees, and she represents Mount Royal in the Government of Alberta’s Grant Funding Review process. A believer in community building, she also chairs the University’s Art Committee.
Soon after joining Mount Royal’s Finance department in 2003, Annalise held progressively senior roles in financial planning and analysis and risk management. Her leadership as a strategic planner at Mount Royal and with previous organizations in the post-secondary, non-profit and public sectors has included significant experience at the governance and policy level in reporting and working with boards and board committees. She is valued for her integrity, vision, and focus on achievement of strategic priorities.
With a commitment to lifelong learning, Annalise has undertaken numerous professional development programs in higher education including with the Institute of Higher Education Management at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Senior University Administrators Course with the University of Manitoba.
Outside of Mount Royal, Annalise has been an active volunteer with numerous community organizations including support for her professional association and as President of a youth Pipe Band Association. Annalise is an avid outdoors-person, taking full advantage of the city’s proximity to the Rocky Mountains in all seasons.
