Room Occupancy

At this time, our structure is to place students in a location where they will not need to share a bathroom. This means that a Four Bedroom Unit will have a maximum of two students. Two Bedroom Units will have a maximum of 1 student. Housing fees can be found here.

International Students

If you're coming into Canada to attend Mount Royal University in the upcoming school year, please go to this page for information regarding Residence Services' plan for international students.

Move-In Day

Fall 2020 Move-In Day
Saturday and Sunday, August 29-30, 2020 

Move in Day this year will take place over two days. Please look at the schedule below and make note of which day you will be moving in. Students will not be able to switch days. This schedule has been designed to limit the amount of interaction with other students moving in while ensuring a smooth process for you. 
Each Resident will receive another email the week prior to their Move In Day with an opportunity to select their specific Move In Day time slot. 
Please note that if you are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms, you should not come to campus. Please contact Residence Services and we will delay your Move In Date until you are feeling better or have received negative COVID-19 test results. 


Saturday, August 29th
  • East Residence:

    • All townhouse units

  • West Residence:

    • Students living in “A” rooms on Floors 2 & 4 of buildings A, B, C, D

    • Students living in “D” rooms on Floors 1, 3, & 5 of buildings A, B, C, D

    • Students living in the west townhouses, blocks 5000, 7000, & 9000

Sunday August 30th 
  • West Residence:

    • Students living in “D” rooms on Floors 2 & 4 of buildings A, B, C, D

Health and Safety

Students living in residence who are experiencing symptoms are expected to contact Residence Services right away. Residence Services has dedicated rooms to allow for symptomatic residents and residents with COVID-19 and their close contacts to isolate. Arrangements will be made to ensure these students are receiving necessary resources and support during this time. 

  • Proper elevator and stairwell etiquette is expected of all students living in residence.
  • Each day, our staff are regularly disinfecting all doors, commonly used spaces and high touch surfaces
Mask Policy
As of August 1, 2020, everyone is required to wear a mask indoors. Masks are required to be worn by everyone in all indoor, public areas of campus. This includes common areas of residence such as hallways, elevators, stairwells, lobbies and laundry rooms.   

Guests Within Residence

Any guests, both non Residents and current Residents, are not to be invited to your unit or into shared Residence spaces for any amount of time. We will be issuing a $100.00 fine to hosts for each guest that is invited to your unit. This policy includes both residents and non-residents.

This strict No Guest Policy is in place for your own safety and for the public health of the community to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Violating this policy poses a significant health risk to your community, the Residence Staff and other campus staff, and to yourself. Residents are encouraged to call the front office, RA on-call (after hours) or Security if they find individuals not following this policy. It is our hope that we can relax this policy during the fall but this will depend on the situation in the province and the city, as well as input from Alberta Health Services and campus leadership and a review of how well the policy is being followed.

We recognize that socializing is an important part of on campus living. We're encouraging residents at this time to enjoy outdoor visits while still exercising safe distancing. Our Resident Advisors will be putting on many programs and events for residents to take part in for opportunities to socialize.

Residents who requested a parking permit when they applied will receive it upon checking in. Parking and Transportation Services has requested that residents pay for their permit by Sept. 4 by going to the Residence Services front desk. Any permit not paid for by Sept. 4 will not be considered valid.


If you want to change your fall/winter or fall only application to winter term, please contact At this time , we cannot guarantee that a unit will be available for winter due to capacity restrictions.  We will notify people in this situation as early as possible in fall term if we anticipate not having a space available in winter term.

Beginning August 29th, the Front Office in West Residence B Building will be open Monday-Friday 8:30am-6:00pm. After hours you can contact a Resident Advisor.
