Group rentals for members and non-members are available in most areas of our facility. Click here for more information.

Forget something? Visit the Customer Service Centre (U130) to purchase items including squash balls, headphones, water bottles, workout towels, socks, toiletries, swim accessories and more. You can also show your school pride by purchasing your CougWear from us, however you will find more styles and sizes in the MRU BookStore.
Mount Royal has paid parking and we are pleased to offer our public members the opportunity to purchase a pass. Learn more about parking locations and rates.
Anyone can book online up to seven days in advance. Current MRU credit students, employees, monthly, continuous and annual memberships can book online at no charge. Non-members (day pass or 10 visit pass holders) will be charged a $25 rental fee for all advanced bookings. You can book online here or call 403.440.7050. All bookings are 45 minutes and are limited to one court per person, per day.

NOTE: Recreation’s squash facilities are affiliated with Squash Alberta. Please contact the Squash Club regarding club membership and playing opportunities.

Want to use our towel and locks? We rent them each for $2/day, this ensures that you always receive a fresh towel and/or a lock for the day-use lockers every visit.

Day-use lockers are available in the change rooms and throughout the facility (free with your own lock). Please remove your personal items before the facility closes. Recreation is not responsible for lost, stolen or removed items and we recommend using a secure anti-shim lock. Anti-shim locks are available for purchase at the Customer Service Centre (U130).

We offer locker rentals for MRU students, employees and the public. We also offer MRU employee locker rentals on an annual basis.

  • Student locker rentals: September 1 – August 31: $75
  • Employee coded room: October 1 – September 30: $185
  • Employee general room: October 1 – September 30: $120
  • Public member lockers: April 1 – March 31: $120

Please stop by the Customer Service Centre for availability or add your name to the locker waiting list.

NOTE: To accommodate high demand, lockers MUST be renewed at the end of your rental term. Failure to renew will result in loss of your locker to the next individual on the locker waiting list. Personal items must also be removed upon completion of your rental term. We are not responsible for lost, stolen or removed articles. Public locker rentals must be accompanied with a continuous or annual membership. Failure to hold a continuous or annual membership will result in your belongings being removed from your locker and the locker rental being removed from your account.

In order to serve you better and maintain a safe environment, all users (including MRU students and employees) must present their Campus Card, Rec Card, or another piece of photo ID to access the Recreation Centre.

All MRU Recreation ID cards and student, faculty or employee Campus Cards remain the property of Mount Royal University.

Misplaced public member cards are kept at the Recreation Customer Service Centre for pick-up. Misplaced student and employee campus cards are kept at the Recreation Customer Service Centre until closing and then returned to the Campus Card desk in the MRU Book Store the following morning for pick-up. Lost, stolen or destroyed membership cards are subject to a $5 replacement fee. NOTE: MRU students and employees must obtain replacement cards from Campus Card Services.

All memberships and passes are non-transferrable. Sharing or loaning your ID card or providing access to any other person is not permitted and will result in immediate suspension from Recreation.
