What is the National College Health Assessment?


The National College Health Assessment (or NCHA) is a survey that MRU uses to collect information on the health habits, behaviours, and perceptions of MRU students. The survey was developed by the American College Health Association and MRU runs the survey every three years. 


This survey examines a wide range of health topics, including:

  • Alcohol, smoking, and substance use
  • Mental health
  • Physical health
  • Food insecurity
  • Sleep
  • Sexual health
  • And many others
