Prepare to earn a globally recognized credential in cyber security.
Today's digital environments are highly complex and the demand for cyber security expertise is on the rise across all types of industries. Professionals trained in cyber security possess the unique ability to protect digital assets and guard intellectual property. As one of the world's fastest-growing technology fields, many experts see the cyber security job market doubling in the next five years - which means there will be a critical need for qualified individuals.
In partnership with York University's School of Continuing Studies, Mount Royal is pleased to offer two stackable credentials in cyber security to deepen your understanding of cyber security topics, strengthen your skills as an IT manager or project lead and prepare you to advance your career in cyber security.
First certificate
Cyber Security Fundamentals Certificate
Ideal for working professionals and recent IT graduates who want to start or enhance their careers in cyber security.
This program will help leaders and project managers who require cyber security knowledge to lead their teams more effectively.
Second certificate
Advanced Cyber Security Certificate
Ideal for aspiring information systems security specialists who are planning to earn the CISSP designation.
Completion of the Cyber Security Fundamentals Certificate is required for entry into this program.
Develop the skills that employers need
York University's Program Advisory Council, comprised of senior executives from many of Canada's leading organizations, ensures these programs focus on the critical, cross-functional skills and knowledge areas that employers value most. This includes ethical responsibility and enhancing skills in problem-solving and verbal communication.
Earn your CISSP designation faster
Along with the Cyber Security Fundamentals Certificate, the Advanced Cyber Security Certificate prepares you to earn the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium ((ISC)²). (ISC)² is an international, non-profit membership association for information security leaders. This globally recognized designation is required for most senior cyber security roles.
Those interested in progressing to the CISSP exam will need to meet experience requirements as required by (ISC)². Learn more about CISSP designation requirements.
