Welcome to the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies. The FBCS includes two schools - the Bissett School of Business and the School of Communications Studies - and is led by Dean, Kelly Williams-Whitt.
The Bissett School of Business offers a range of programs, including a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with seven majors, including Accounting, Finance, General Management, Human Resources, International Business, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. The School of Communications offer a Bachelor of Communications with three majors: Information Design, Broadcast Media Studies, Journalism and Digital Media, and Public Relations. Our faculty provides an innovative and collaborative environment where faculty members can pursue research and scholarship, engage with industry partners, and develop new initiatives.

Getting Set Up
To begin, the Administrative Assistant in your department area is responsible for providing you with starting essentials such as your ID number, MRU email, MRU username, office number and requesting your office keys.
We recommend you complete these tasks first in this order:
- Activate your MyMRU account
- Get your OneCard
- Book a short tour/orientation with your area Adminstrator
- Navigating MyMRU.ca [PAGE]

If you have any inquiries or uncertainties, please reach out to your area's Administrative Assistant.
For academic questions, it's best to contact your chair.
Activate your MyMRU Account
Your myMRU account should be activated as soon as possible since it serves as a central hub for all essential functions, including Google Workspace, printing, and access to MRU services and systems.
- Open MyMRU.ca
- Click on "Activate your account"
- It will require your ID number (provided by your area Admin)
Faculty Profile Page
Full time faculty are encouraged to have a biography profile page created on the MRU website. The profile page usually consists of a professional profile picture, contact information, and biography.
