APPLE Seeds: 12 Week Preschool Physical Literacy Program
This play based program provides twelve activities designed to run for 45-60 minutes There are three components in each activity: an adult-led introductory activity, structured physical activities, finishing with an unstructured exploratory free-play period. The first component of the activity introduces the play-based physical activity through art, activities, stories and songs to support overall child development. The second component focuses on a developmentally appropriate play-based physical activity (e.g. squirrel tail) guided by an adult (Early Childhood Educator, recreation leader, child care provider) . The final component of the program will be child-initiated play based physical activity that occurs as the child explores his or her environment.
