Vicki Goodfellow-Duke

Speech Professor

Vicki Goodfellow Duke has had the pleasure of teaching Speech in the Faculty of Communications (formerly Theatre and Speech) since 1991.

She is passionate about helping students become confident communicators in both their personal and professional lives. She has a special interest in persuasive speaking, and rhetoric, and is currently pursuing a thesis-based FTCL, from Trinity College, London, on the topic Sound Byte: Persuasion in the 21st Century.

Vicki teaches intermittently in the Business and Professional Education program in Continuing Education and Extension, and taught Speech Arts and Drama for The Mount Royal Conservatory from 1990 until 2011. She was a National Examiner for Speech Arts and Drama for The Royal Conservatory of Toronto from 1996 to 2001, and has given workshops and adjudicated festivals across Canada.

Vicki holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, a Licentiate in Speech Communications from Trinity College, London, and is currently a Fellow candidate (FTCL).

Vicki is the Owner and Director of Outspoken Communications, a public speaking consulting company.

She is the fortunate recipient of numerous national and international awards for her writing.
