Mount Royal’s School of Nursing and Midwifery is dedicated to translating and creating knowledge through education and scholarship to advance nursing and midwifery education and practice. The Centre for Nursing/Midwifery Education Scholarship and Teaching (CSMN has been established to foster faculty development in teaching, research and scholarship.

Orientation for New Faculty
In collaboration with the ADC (Academic Development Centre) institutional orientation, the Faculty Scholar provides nursing program specific orientation. This is ongoing throughout the first year of employment in the School of Nursing and Midwifery for full time faculty, and designed to complement the Academic Development Centre orientation.
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)
Faculty interested in expanding their understanding of the learning that occurs in their classrooms are supported in their research program. Faculty are also supported by ADC and the Institute for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
Teaching, Research and Scholarship Consultations
The Faculty Scholar is also available by appointment for one on one consultations related to teaching, research or general scholarship questions.
