Honduras Winter 2016 General Education Field School
This field school is open to all MRU students. Travelling through various parts of Honduras, students will complete a total of 12 credits through two different courses. These General Education courses come from two different clusters and fulfill students' Tier 3 GenEd requirements.
While in Honduras, students will attend a weeklong program with the Organization for Youth Empowerment (http://www.oyehonduras.org/english/), visit banana and coffee plantations, hike through rain forests and cloud forests, visit ancient ruins, and explore coral reefs. The field school begins in El Progresso and travels through Copan, Gracias, La Moskitia and Utila. Students will study within the classroom for four weeks at MRU, followed by five weeks in Honduras, a one-week break (students can choose to continue their travels or return to Calgary at this point), and finish up with four weeks of class work at MRU.
