Sarah studied pharmacology (BSc) at McMaster University in Ontario, then completed her PhD in Clinical Medicine, Neurology, at the University of Oxford, UK. Her research focuses on the genetic and environmental causes of multiple sclerosis (MS), with a particular interest in gender differences as well as susceptibility factors such as vitamin D deficiency and vitamin D-related genetics. Sarah is also actively involved in the Calgary MS Society as a volunteer for various programs; she promotes awareness, advocacy and encourages her students to get involved. She joined MRU as a lecturer in 2013 and became an assistant professor in 2018. Sarah teaches various anatomy, physiology and cellular/molecular biology courses. Having always been passionate teaching, she loves the student-centered culture here at MRU. Outside of academics, Sarah enjoys playing various sports and travelling.
