Peter Rudzik

Peter Rudzik

Off-Campus Instructor, Piano (Lakeview)

Having obtained a Master of Music in piano performance from the Academy of Music in Gdansk, Peter Rudzik is a prizewinner many times over in his native Poland. In 1984 a scholarship from the Chopin Society in Warsaw led to numerous recitals and appearances on national television and radio. Of special acclaim was a performance at the National Piano Festival in 1987. In 1989 Peter received a scholarship for post graduate studies at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Peter's love of teaching soon led to an instructor position at the Mount Royal University Conservatory in Calgary, and his own private studio as an off-campus Conservatory instructor. Many of his students, spanning beginner to licentiate levels, have achieved the highest standards of success both provincially and nationally. His students have won prizes in the Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival and, in 2012 alone, four of Peter's students received Gold Medals on their Royal Conservatory of Music piano examinations for the highest marks in Alberta. Peter has written several provincial prescribed selection syllabi for the Alberta Music Festival Association.

In a completely different vein, he also wrote the musical comedy "You Can't Live in L.A. Without A Car" with American playwright and lyricist Allan Provost. Mr. Rudzik has a musically accomplished wife and teen-aged son. When he is not teaching or composing, he enjoys cycling, skiing and working out at the gym.
