Advanced Performance Program Audition and Application Process

  • Please note that for the 2021-2022 year we have altered our audition and entrance processes due to COVID-19. These guidelines are specific to the 2021-2022 year and will be updated again in 2022 for the requirements for the 2022-2023 year.

  • Entrance to the Advanced Performance Program is by audition only - please see the audition requirements for more information. NEW INFORMATION: Please note that for the 2021-2022 application year, all auditions will be done via video. You will be asked to submit your audition link in the application form. Please have your video finished before going to apply as you will not be able to save your application and return to it.

  • New applicants and returning students must fill out the online application form. Returning students are not required to submit a video but still must complete the form.

  • Applications are now open. Please click here to apply.   Due to COVID-19, all the auditions will take place by video. The application deadline is June 30, 2021.

  • All auditions will be evaluated by a panel consisting of Academy and APP faculty.

  • Students are notified of audition results no later than July 15, 2021. Please expect your results to come by email.

  • In order to guarantee a spot in the program and to be assigned to a chamber group and collaborative pianist, students must enroll and pay tuition fees no later than September 1, 2021. Payment plans are available; arrangements must be made by the September 1, 2021 deadline.

  • Students have the option of simultaneously pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree through Ambrose University. To be considered for both programs, you will need to submit an application for the APP program, apply for admission to Ambrose University and the B.Mus. program, complete the joint MRU APP/Ambrose University audition and demonstrate proficiency in music theory.
