2021-22 Season Update

MRU Conservatory is very excited to announce that we are planning to resume our Early Childhood program for the 2021/22 Season! Currently we are planning to resume classes this September and while we remain committed to the safety of all our students and instructors we are very excited to resume face-to-face instruction and see everyone return to campus again!

Music Explorers (formerly called Kodály Preparatory), begins a student's musical experiences in an unparented music class setting. The program draws on core music education in a creative and engaging approach that combines musical games, folk songs, movement, instrument playing, and responding to selected classical music pieces.

Music Explorers nurtures the development of the child's own instrument, the singing voice. It prepares children for the introduction of music literacy, rhythms, melodies, and movement, the beginning of internalizing musical concepts.

This program promotes confidence and self-esteem, increases focus and concentration as well as physical and aural awareness. It also fosters a love of music, language, and learning that will last throughout the child's life.

Classes are kept small in order to provide more individualized attention and a flexible learning environment. There are 16 classes per term, each 30 minutes long, for children of ages 3 and 4 years, depending on your child's readiness for an unparented experience.
