About the CIA Exam and Exam Eligibility
The internal audit function is an effective assurance and consulting function designed to evaluate and improve effective risk management, control and governance processes. To earn the CIA designation, candidates must meet predefined criteria. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college-level institution. Full-time undergraduate students in their senior year may sit for the exam. Professionals holding qualified certifications may receive professional recognition credit for Part 4 of the CIA exam.
