MS Excel, Level 1
In this IC3 preparation course, discover spreadsheets and create, edit, save and print in Excel. Enter information, freeze and split panes, and move within/between worksheets. Practise entering data, creating formulas, formatting, using references, cut/copy/paste and AutoFill. Creating/editing charts and using Excel as a database are also introduced. Skills covered are transferable to all versions of MS Excel. This course, along with MS Word Level 1 and MS PowerPoint Level 1, prepares you to write the IC3 Key Applications Assessment.
Course materials: approx. $28+GST at the BookStore. Optional Key Applications manual is also used in MS Word Level 1 and MS PowerPoint Level 1.
Note: We strongly recommend familiarity with Windows file management before registering in this course.

Explore a variety of Excel's built-in functions (mathematical, statistical, financial, logical, date and time, text, lookup and reference, information.) Saving worksheets as HTML, subtotals, customizing toolbars, custom formatting, modifying and enhancing charts, drawing objects and protecting worksheets are also covered. Skills are transferable to all versions of MS Excel.

Explore the creation of templates and sharing of workbooks. Link workbooks, create data maps, use database functions and create pivot tables. Analysis tools including goal seek, solver, scenarios and auditing a worksheet, as well as macros and importing/exporting data, are covered. Skills are transferable to all versions of MS Excel.
